PROGRAMS
WELCOME HOME.
We provide cheerful living arrangements and services for adults over 18, who have varying levels of development, physical and other disabilities, including autism.
RESIDENTIAL SERVICES
Our group homes are located in Milford and Meriden. Each living facility has 24/7 staff supervision, medical services including occupational therapy, counseling, speech, visual, auditory and behavioral as well as skill-building activities and programs including household maintenance, self-care, meal prep, budgeting and much more. All residents are offered single accommodations or are paired with a roommate, with common areas shared by all.
DAY SUPPORT
& RECREATIONAL SERVICES
Bright, art-filled locations, in Woodbridge and Wallingford, offer full day supervision with programs focusing on community inclusion and integration, like volunteering to deliver meals, or helping at animal shelters and local libraries. Creative art, music therapy, ceramic classes and low-impact exercise are just some of the other activities offered. Transportation is available.
COMPETITIVE AND SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT
In continuing to nurture each individual’s dignity and self-respect, ACORD assists individuals in obtaining and maintaining employment. Within competitive employment, we offer support enabling participants to function as independently as possible in the workplace with jobs including handling inventory, packing groceries, stocking shelves and laundry, to name just a few. With supported employment we take a team approach such as working for the town of Wallingford to oversee maintenance at several parks, giving program participants a sense of pride and satisfaction.
Any or all programs are recommended for those needing to transition from school to the post-graduation working world. We are happy to help choose the right program and tailoring it for your loved one.
